We Work For Environment Protection BLLS India is a Non Government Organization dedicated for environment protection, especially by doing plantation work to make our Mother Earth Green with people's perception and support. For executing our environment programme we contact general public and corporate to assist us for carrying out environmental activities and in order to get their support, we regularly take care, irrigate and protect the tree saplings. We also distribute tree saplings (free of cost) to school, offices and general public, who assure us to take care of the planted tree saplings. Our annual volunteer driven campaign aims at greening Haridwar and protecting its existing green cover. In the wake of the various “developmental” activities that a growing Haridwar is seeing, its old green trees are being felled, even as 300 more cars are added to Haridwar’s roads every day. Monsoon Wooding is our only hope to breathe in this city - us Plant, Protect and Promote Trees during the monsoon months in Haridwar. We plant approximately 2000 trees in Haridwar each year and so far have planted and survived over 10000 trees in total. The campaign is partially supported by KHD and is mostly driven by crowdfunding. Bahuuday Lok Seva Sansthan initiates plantation with farmers to support them with sustainable income. Farmers have been affected with the recurring droughts and uneven rain fall. Due to these odd scenario and the global climate changes, the farmers are facing lot of issues. And if this worsen then situation will be out of control. It is now agricultural dilemma. The farmers cannot stop the agriculture nor accept the losses caused by the recurring failures. To bring back the lost greenery we have been doing tree plantation in cities. But now we realize that by planting the same trees in villages, we can help the farmers have a sustainable income. We shall plant fruit bearing saplings with farmers and these trees will help them to have a parallel income. Medical Health Services “He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything” – Arabic proverb India has made rapid strides in the health sector since independence. However, various eye opening data from NFHS clearly indicate that access to healthcare still remains a challenge. While the health statistics of rural India continue to be poor, the health status and access to health for the poor in urban slum dwellers has surfaced to be equally deplorable and have less than 4% of government primary healthcare facilities. Urban slum dwellers suffer from adverse health conditions owing to mainly two reasons –first the lack of education and thus lack of awareness; and second the unwillingness to lose a day’s wage in order to reach the nearest medical facility. Healthcare for underprivileged, which is a desperate need, thus remains unaddressed. The need of the hour is thus a two pronged approach – first to bring quality healthcare services to doorsteps of the needy and second to promote healthcare awareness and contemporary healthcareseeking behavior among the underprivileged. In such a scenario a mobile healthcare services delivery system is the most practical mechanism. And in subscription to this view, Smile Foundation has initiated the Smile on Wheels programme. This is a unique mobile hospital programme that seeks to address problems of mobility, accessibility and availability of primary healthcare with a special focus on children and women, in urban slums and remote rural areas. The Smile on Wheels programme has so far provided free healthcare services to more than 10 lakh children and families. Healthcare always remains as top priority for Uday Foundation. We continue to address the health needs of underprivileged children and women through our dedicated health centre. Over the past years, our partnerships with various hospitals and medical practitioners have benefited thousands of people in urban slums, remote rural areas and in natural disaster zone by conducting health camps. Medical camps We conduct medical camps in far-flung rural areas and urban slums to cater to health needs of the under-served populations. These camps are designed after a thorough assessment of the health needs of the potential beneficiaries and the existing health services in that particular area. Based on this, general or specialty camps are organized to provide preventive and curative services. Medical camps in Haridwar Bahuuday Lok Seva Sansthan has successfully organized eight medical camps in Haridwar to provide basic medical care to the local poor population in the remote rural and flood affected areas. Over 30,000 patients benefited from the services provided in these camps. Bahuuday Lok Seva Sansthan has also organized 12 health check up camps in Haridwar district to benefit the elderly and school children of this area. Child Education Imagine school without a teacher. Thousands of children in India are missing out on school because they don't have a teacher. And millions more who are enrolled in school learn in overcrowded classrooms because there aren't enough teachers to teach A large part of this population are children forced into child labor through activities such as rag picking. At a major dumpsite on the outskirts of Haridwar, BLSS Team discovered numerous young hands scavenging through urban litter whereas they must ideally be holding pencils in a hygienic and empowering environment. BLLS, a non-governmental organization devoted towards working for the benefit of underprivileged children among other issues, aims to construct a school that in addition basic academics also trains children in basic life skills, democratic values and learning competencies. BLLS School intends to provide free education to all its students with the support of its trained and experienced team of volunteers & teachers by your generous contribution. The school will function as a charitable school providing remarkable education to underprivileged children through one on one mentorship, and sponsorship accomplished by socially conscious individuals. In addition to providing direct passage to education, this model will also expand their horizons to better opportunities through their mentors. Concurrently, the mentor experiences the joy of flooding a child’s life with hope for a promising future by guiding their child onto a completely different path than the one he/she may have trodden onto without books. Swachata Abhiyan Clean India Mission or Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is a movement towards making India Clean and BLLS India envisage to make this happen via proper waste management. You can support the cause by donating into this campaign. About the Campaign India is facing serious challenges regarding air and land pollution mainly due to open dumping of solid waste in religious cities such as Haridwar, Rishikesh. Open waste dumping generate methane gas that increase local temperature, and the leachate which is produced when it rains makes ground water contaminated with heavy metal such as lead, zinc etc present in batteries and electronic equipments such as TVs, Computers and our Mobile Phones, which all together eventually has the potential to kill thousands of people at once who depend on groundwater to suffice their drinking water needs. Our Solution BLLS India is a registered NGO having pan India presence and is a registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. BLLS India is a team of motivated and dynamic professionals of young generation hoping to change India’s Image as a dirty nation into a clean and beautiful India. Our Impact Daily waste collection from residential areas, offices, and public dustbins, segregation and recycling of waste which will ultimately reduce the total amount of waste that goes to open dumping hence saving our environment. Project will help in removing child labours currently engaged in informal rag-picking business all over Haridwar and provide them free education. Project will introduce recycled products into the market that will save our natural resources such as trees; oil & natural gas used to make notebooks and plastic bags, which all-together will help us all to go green.
